| short description | arctur company description Since its establishment in 1992, Arctur is active in the IT area. Last ten years or so, almost all our activities are web-technologies related. Today our core business is design, development, and implementation of web-based information systems, including websites as well as sophisticated back-office applications. Among our most important advantages is experience in designing multi-language interfaces, integration of heterogeneous systems, and universal accessibility of web content and services. Web-based backoffice applications include both taylor-made solutions based on the requirements of a specific user, and off-the shelf products that require only minor personalisation for each individual user. Among latter, some of the most important are Arctur is also renowned for its skills as an independent consultancy and development company for IBM Lotus Domino/Notes. It is specialized for work on more challenging projects, may they be client-based (Notes) solutions, server applications (Domino) or a mix of both worlds and J2EE. Arctur is one of only a handful programming houses in Central Europe capable of rapid deployment of field-proven and scalable bidirectional, synchronized and on-the-fly data exchange and document manipulation between proprietary Domino database applications and third-party IT-systems based on relational database management systems and business logic (J2EE). Since Arctur started working on the web, we strived to achieve excellence in web graphic design. Our team of graphic designers works mainly on design for web, but they often employ their experience and know-how for other media and wider challenges. Furthermore, Arctur offers a high quality photographic services, ranging from products photography in our own photo studio, to on-site photography. An important part of Arctur's activities are counseling and analitic services, based on the experience accumulated trough all the years of working in the field of web. Analysis and counseling are mainly focused on various web activities, strategies and modalities of web presence, finding new approaches to offer and sell services on the web, etc. Understanding the importance of continuous progress, Arctur has its own R&D department, registered with the Slovenian Research Agency (ARRS). The research areas covered include those producing knowledge used later on in the development of, or for the inclusion in various IT solutions and products, e.g. universal accessibility, e-government and e-inclusion, connecting applications and bussines processes, and – last but not least – applied mathematics. |
